How to become a POCG member

The Palm Oil Collaboration Group (POCG) is a business‑to‑business initiative that brings together companies from across the palm oil supply chain to accelerate the effective implementation of No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) commitments. For further information, please see this video: Short film about the benefits of NDPE IRF

POCG provides a practical collaboration space for companies to align on challenges, test solutions, and work collectively to address complex NDPE implementation issues that cannot be solved by individual organisations alone.

Who can join POCG

The POCG is a business‑to‑business initiative. Any private sector organisation directly involved in the cultivation of oil palm and the buying, selling, refining or use of any type or derivative of palm oil is eligible to seek membership.

POCG takes an open tent approach to participation, and organisations that meet the membership criteria and are willing to engage constructively in the group’s work are encouraged to express interest.

Membership criteria and expectations

To be eligible to join the POCG, organisations must meet the following requirements:

  • Grow, process, trade, use or sell palm oil or its derivatives, or products containing palm oil

  • Demonstrate a commitment to constructively working towards achieving No Deforestation and No Exploitation (NDPE), including the use of the NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework (IRF)

  • Participate actively in at least one POCG workstream

New members are expected to:

  • Adhere to the POCG Terms of Reference and Engagement

  • Participate actively in POCG work

  • Pay membership contributions in a timely manner

Approval of new members is undertaken in line with the POCG Terms of Reference and Engagement. Membership may be denied or revoked in cases of non‑payment of fees, non‑participation in POCG work, misleading public claims regarding POCG’s work, or failure to meet eligibility criteria.

How to join POCG

Application process:

  1. Visit the POCG website to understand the group’s objectives, governance structure, and publicly available materials

  2. Contact the POCG Secretariat (email: secretariat@palmoilcollaborationgroup.net) to initiate a discussion and confirm alignment with POCG’s objectives

  3. The Secretariat will engage with prospective members to discuss NDPE commitments, expectations, and potential contributions

  4. Prospective members review and agree to the Terms of Reference and Engagement (ToRE), which set out governance, membership expectations, and decision‑making processes

  5. Upon confirmation, new members are onboarded by the Secretariat and supported in engaging with relevant meetings and workstreams

Terms of Reference and Engagement (ToRE)

All POCG members are expected to adhere to the Terms of Reference and Engagement, which set out the formal framework governing participation in the POCG.

The POCG is largely financed through a member contribution model. As part of a new structure approved by members, mandatory tiered membership contributions apply to ensure that all members are able to participate on an equal footing.
